Born and raised in Amsterdam, Amok’s work first started appearing on the streets in 1996.
Since then he has become a prominent figure in the Amsterdam graffiti and art scene. He
is known for his perfect colour combinations, original letter style and tropical feel
pieces.
His canvasses build on the years of technique learned from the streets, combining his
love for lettering and colour in a simple and effective way. His canvases are bold,
striking and carefully balanced. This collection is heavily inspired by his first
encounters of Australian marine life.
The Butcher Shop is pleased to present Amok’s first solo show, and the first exhibition
in the stores newly renovated art space.
