King of Nothing

kon

The King of Nothing (KON) is a new clothing line that has just hit the streets. KON looks to provide an opportunity for up and coming artists to promote their work through quality, wearable apparel ranges. See below an overview of what KON are about, have a browse of their website and check back here for an interview with Creative Director Jimmy Baxter in the upcoming weeks.

The name King of Nothing is an adaptation of the age old saying, ‘jack of all trades, master of none’ which many people including creative director Jimmy Baxter can relate to - “I’m passionate about many things in life but would never sacrifice the rest to commit to just one“.

It was out of this sentiment King of Nothing apparel was born. Drawing inspiration from various youth sub-cultures, KON aims to create wearable artworks from a variety of artistic disciplines , as well as offering quality apparel that you can work, play, paint, skate, date and create in.

“Supporting artists from the ground up is what were all about”. Rather than only displaying well-known artists’ work on our garments, we move to present a forum for up and coming artists to promote themselves. Still an infant at 3 months old, ‘Series One’ has received a great response in the Sydney market scene; however, it was always our aim to find our first stockists at home in Perth and are proud to announce Mi Life in Fremantle will be stocking KON apparel from mid February.

KON are currently working with Perth illustrator Prez Jaun as well as local photographer Tim Swallow on our ‘Series Two’ installment. Check out our website for news, an online store and artists profiles.
