Popsicle 2010

Returning to the Perth Fashion Festival for a third run, Popsicle has become a staple on Perth’s independent fashion calendar. Popsicle is temporary retail space where you can browse, shop, and directly support a selection of Western Australia’s most exciting emerging talent. 

Featuring Lonely 8-Bit Heroes, Kiss Me Quick, Little Gracie, PeppermintMilk, Bo Ra, Heart City Design, Bad Hair Mountain, White Square, Lovers & Dreamers, Leah Tarlo, Prufrock, Ping Pong Diplomacy, Love is My Velocity, Kingbrown Magazine, and Hit & Miss Magazine. 

Produced by the crew at OnWilliam, each year Popsicle reinvents itself in a new environment, delivering a fun and different shopping experience. This year we salute our local designers in style, with Popsicle being housed in two shipping containers in the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre. The pop-up shipping container shop, will be open 10am-5pm daily and packed full of emerging fashion, jewellery, art and other designer goodies!

Feast Your Eyes 2

This Saturday, September 4, sees the second installment of Feast Your Eyes at the Fremantle Arts Centre. Artwork from over 15 artists will be on display as well as live art by Prez Juan, Reboot and Dave Misled. The Sun Orchestra and DJ Klash will be providing the tunes and the girls have coordinated a silent auction with all proceeds going to The Australian Conservation Foundation to keep in line with the events recycling theme. Doors open at 6, $10 entry ~ this will be a standout event so get amongst it!

Showcasing the all female artists line up this event features the work of Chloe Tupper, Millie Loveknuckles, Caitlin Talijanich and Bridge Stelli. Get down and check it out.

In addition to the publication, Relative has developed a range of original, high quality, wearable t-shirts to complement the print medium. Collaborations with local creatives have seen Relative Apparel take both a basic and unique design approach. Our aim is to commission artists regularly to design clothing that reflects the local creative culture whilst affording artists the opportunity to promote their talents on the backs of the local community.

This new range sees Relative collaborating with local artists Richard Healy, Andy Kuypers, Peche, Jessie Mitchell, Mike Ellis, Storman Norman & Ayre. The tee’s are available to order through RedBubble.

To celebrate the depth of creative talent within our community, Relative host regular events that provide a forum for those with an open and creative mindset to congregate, celebrate, inebriate and for the lucky ones amongst us procreate.

For this project Relative has collaborated with local artists’, who have aptly painted the fridge that will be stacked with beer and awarded to one thirsty/lucky punter on the night.

Doors open at 6pm, entry $10 at the door.

No Culture Icons Exhibition

This exhibition is an exclusive opportunity to see a selected showcase of new photo based works by 18 leading local and international artists. The aim is to introduce talented emerging photographers from various ethos and to share their works in a physical form to inspire and inform the public of current global perceptions by young people. Make Friend IV - A Portrait Show

The Make Friend series of exhibitions continues in March with a spectacular portrait show featuring some of this countries most exciting talent.

Accomplished Adelaide artist Jeremy Piert will join Melbourne based former local boy Eli Smith, the internationally renowned Matt Doust and emerging star Richard Healy on Saturday March 20th in the Norfolk Basement for Make Friend IV.

As with all Make friend shows this is a one night only event which brings sharp focus to the exhibition and means that there are no second chances.
